What is Team Scouching?

It’s easy to put out lists of players every year, forget about the work, and move onto the next group of players, but it is much harder to put your work to the test. Teams have to pick one player at a time, knowing that every other team is selecting players off your list, so making the right pick at the right time is key to overall draft success.

Team Scouching is one step towards a potential solution. Being a born-and-raised Torontonian, I have logged players I would’ve selected at each Toronto Maple Leafs pick since the 2015 NHL Draft using a combination of my data work over the years and the qualitative evaluation that is so important to proper prospect analysis.

This list will be updated every year with NHLeS (NHLeScore) metrics maintained for five years post-draft, explaining why the older players appear with unavailable values.
